Hey just putting my say in too :) I shoot alot of food (for personal record and not commercial) with my 5D and 16-35L but am interested to see what the sigma and canon 50mm macros can do! eagerly awaiting examples! Lugging around a 5D with 16-35 is a bit tiring sometimes!

Someone told me they saw someone mention my website from this forum so i went searching here, I just joined up yesterday :D Regarding food, just shoot with the brightest source you can get, and compose properly.

your shot needs better compostion, make it fill the frame, food does not need decorating to make it look good, just shoot it quick before it dries, try to find the brightest source of light, and maybe get some light bouncing off it to make it look as if it glistens.
