    Classic Cameras in Singapore

For those who are into Chinese cameras collecting, check out this website. You will not see big catalogues of China rare cameras but instead you will see how cameras collecting in China is stil very much alive .... with collectors who started as early as 1950s. Do you know that China had their...

    Classic Cameras in Singapore

In Singapore, classic cameras collecting is pretty different from those in Europe or the US. We are quite similar to the Indonesian and Malaysia collectors. We collect mainly the "elite" stuff and not so adventurous. Of course, there are exceptions. In recent years, I noticed that the camera...

I would recommend the Leica M2 as an entry level to the world of Leica M series. Its affordable and quite usable. With regards to the metering, you can have an external meter (think VC has one, has to check with Chiif). Leica itself has its meter but that would add cost to your M2. Frankly...

Right in front there is a shop. Think all of us know which shop is that. You want him to stare at you when you are smiling and laughing and chatting away with the clubsnap folks? Inevitably you will talk about prices, then one of the folks will point to that shop and say that shop charges $800...

As for the Leica M5, ohh man, you are one ambitious newbie ;) IMHO, if possible, get a M2 which I think is more suitable for someone climbing into the Leica wagon. Its quite affordable and basic to use. Leica M5 to me is quite a "luxurious" possession. Leica M5 is further divided into 2 lugs...

Alternative, Its one of my Voigtlanders ;) then one FX70 Yashica FOC. Price of Voigtlander did not marked up ;) So at the end of the day, you have a cool collectible classic Vitessa to start the ball rolling. If metering is a concern, get the VC meter from Chiif. Mine would not be your...

Alternative, I saw your newcomer thread, so many nice folks all extending their helping hands. Amazing... a lot of good samaritans around... must keep it that way, hope that we would NOT be the kind of photographers snapping away when somebody kenna stabbed. To solve the issue, Bahiho's...

The fact that Alternative is in this thread suggests that he is leaning towards RF gear rite ? ;) To put into perspective, a Voigtlander Bessa R Rangefinder now selling for $400 at B/S now looks pretty decent to me. Furthermore you have Chiif here, right here in clubsnap! You can talk to the...

    Classic Cameras in Singapore

Its interesting that the Yashica RF is still so popular around. For budget RF, I wonder why German RF like Agfa Silette or American Argus C44 or even an Aires 35-IIIC(looks like a Leica M3 from far) are not popular here. I really hope to see more of them around in Singapore other than the FSU...
