Hi all, I just came back from Hong Kong as well. Thanks to tips and advises from the peeps here, I think i got myself a pretty decent deal. Got it from Echo Photos at Tsim Sha Tsui. A Tamron 17-50 VC at HKD3200 (plus a 2% charge for using CC). I believe its much cheaper than shops in SG...
