    ok nevermind. In case some others had a dumbass moment like mine, set your flash to Manual first. Mine was on TTL. Now to figure out why my wireless radios aren't firing.

    Ok found the setting to set the flash icon to external (The flashhead icon without the 'C') but i still can't trigger my SB-900. Seems when i trigger the shutter, the SB-900's recycling red light blinks but the flash doesn't fire. Any clues?

    Fuji X10, so pretty!

    Tungsten gel makes your flash the same "balance" as the ambient tungsten light. so when you white balance, everything looks proper. Ditto for flourescent. But you can also use tungsten gel to give a warmer glow to a subject.
