Understood. My earlier doubt was more on the display settings of the pic taken with M mode and EV+1/3 based on Aperture/SSpeed changes. I just thought that the displayed settings will show the 'actual' EV value. Anyway, just being an ignorant nitpicker.....;p

Thank you the explanation, Chalib and Headfonz......since the cam does not do any computation, the EV will remain unchanged ie '0' under M-mode.

Oh ok....let me rephrase it...What I meant was when I changed either the aperture or shutter speed in Manual mode, the EV will also change right? So, if i change the SS till EV is +1/3 and take the shot, then it make sense that during playback, the display should also reflect the EV as +1/3...

Dont mind if I ride on this thread. I new to photography too and wld like to know if I can move the AF area manually ie moving it to focus on a desired subject by using the left/right/up/down directional buttons. Not sure if you understand what I'm trying to say though....:dunno:

I think wildcat is pulling yr legs la.... from my untrained amateur eyes, it's quite sharp as the focus is on the snake's head. :think:

If price diff between a lens pkg and a body-only pkg is only $100, who would wanna buy the EP2 body only?

Just to share that I bought the Sirui travel tripod from TK Foto for $199 inclusive of the ballhead. Total weight is abt 1.4kg. They have a similar CF model which costs abt $360 and weight abt 1.1kg. For 300gms, the diff is abt $160 which I personally think it's not worth it. Am happy with this...

i was at TK the other day looking for a travel tripod for the GF-1. Out of curiosity, I asked abt the EP-2 and he quoted me $1550 for the pancake & same price for the 14-42mm kit. The body alone costs $1450 which is only $100 difference. Anyway, he was confused abt Oly's pricing for the pancake...
