If you are unable to find someone to assist you in converting your D50 to IR, you can order a filter from Lifepixel.com and follow the directions to replace the IR blocking filter with a R72 equivalent as shown on their website...

I have difficulty getting IR color with my camera and pp. I am happy with B&W's. You surely do not share my difficulty with color. Wonderful photo's and a pleasure to view.

When I modified my Canon G2, I bought a replacement filter for the G2 from Lifepixel.com. It cost $95+S&H which I thought was expensive for a small piece of R72 equivalent glass. It fit and works very well. I do not believe they have replacement filters for Sony's. I would like to convert...
