REgret selling 85mm/1.8. THought it was too long on my 1.6 crop 50D. But now I miss the quality and 1.8 fast aperture.

400D takes it AF sensors from 30D, a much better low light AF compared to 350D. ....and there have been reported underexposures problems on 400D. Dunnow BY DESIGN or by FAULT:confused:.

CAN ONe beat CANON? Only CANON!

SIGMA APO got excellent colour, contrast and sharp, for this price. Much better than EF 75-300. But focus hunting in low light.

For this focal length, whether IS function is really required, that too at the cost of slower aperture??? Focal range beyond 50mm (80mm on FF) is different issue, but there are many more to take care of that.

Does TAMRON SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF) does not fall in the zone of consideration, while comparing the above two CANON lenses for decision to buy? I am also in the dilemma!:what:

Me too own EOS 350D. With the small size and NO grip on the left side, and awkward balance with any lens slightly larger/heavier than the kit lens,the chances of a drop always seem so real. So.o.o.o many EOS 350D drops!!! CANON should accept it as design defect and replace all these F.O.C...
