yeap i guess these are the only 2 scenarios where you can get bokeh with sx10 or other similar cameras. below is an example of the second case i got out of sx10: at the end of tele zoom and background far away.

ok thanks man. your first camera is always a mistake it seems...

but i didnt zoom, its only up to 4++! in the end i had to lower the shutter speed and the pics were blurred. -_- but i get what you mean too.. still, the blur in the background that i get is not as pronounced as what you would get in a dslr. guess ill have to change camera...
