    Digimate Service Centre

Ha...thought I was the unlucky one. My DGmate also gave up after using only ONCE! But being a technical guy, I "cut it up" and found that the Li-ion battery was dead. There is no where that sells a replacement, so I transplanted my Sony Ericsson Li-ion battery into the DGmate and it's been happy...

black shop in sim lim square (SONG BROTHERS)

Had a bad experience in SL too; cheated by a shop in the 2nd flr couple of years ago. For piece of mind, I never buy any electronic gadgets there anymore...shop at Courts/HN/BD with ease and comfort!! Maybe cheaper too at the end of the day

    m42 jupiter 9, 85mm f2

Shots look under-exposed but focusing is dead on; can see the fine abrasion marks at the elbow of the railing in pic 2. Decent performance at f2 for a 85mm...did you have a split image focusing screen to aid MF?

    K100d or Canon powershot

Agree fully with your opinion. It's a different class altogether with a APS-sized sensor and 1/2.5" sized sensor camera. I started with the pro-sumers and upgraded to the *ist D. Consider your needs instead....Get the S5 if your into PnS and occassional photography. DSLRs are more suited for...

Interest in OME53 and Split Screen Bundle?

Oh...think I missed the boat. Looking for a split screen too. Anyone? Curious do you experience any metering issues with the new split screen? Pentax forum advises that such a screen may affect metering accuracy...

Hwa Chong student punched bus driver

Sadly education has failed on this boy; enough said of the pedigree he is raised from. It seems like in our society people take matters into their own hands and resort to violence...road bullies, gang fights etc and recently there was a taxi driver who drove into a motorist cos of a spat over an...

    Nikon Lens on Pentax K-Mount?

Wow, that PK to F-mount adapter looks factory made by Nikon? Would be great if I can lay my hands on one of this...any advice? Cheers Vince

    Bossmen Dry Cabinets

5W is very frugal; compared to your ave sized fridge is drawing 150-200W of power. Guess if the gasket seals at the door are still in good condition, it can keep the moisture out for a considerable period even if the power is cut...

    Bossmen Dry Cabinets

Yes, you wouldnt need a dry cabinet in Oz...RH there is typically 50%; humidifiers are more common ;) Recently upgraded to Digicab 80L...got it at the promo at Carrfour with free delivery; no sweat :) Lowest RH achievable is 25%, performance is satisfactory so far. Check the power...

Tokina 500mm f8 Mirror Lens Test

Wow...dats a steal. I bought mine new at $1000+ for the Nikon FM2 more than 10 years ago. Makes me curious what mount does your 500mm reflex comes with, can hardly find Tamron adaptall mounts? BTW, is there a mount adaptor for the K100D to accept Nikon F mount lenses?

    Using Manual Lens on DSLRs

Oh thanks...so the higher end Nikon DSLRs do provide metering and focusing support for the MF (AI, AIS) Nikkors. Out of interest, does the D50, D70 or D100 provide stop down metering function for MF Nikkors at all? Vince

    Using Manual Lens on DSLRs

Hi, May I know which are the Nikon DSLRs that will work with Nikkor MF lenses...have a bunch of primes for the FM2. Metering is a must...CW or spot is fine. TIA Vince
