Auto focus is correct if I focus through LiveView mode, I guess this is contrast-maximising AF mode. But if I use the normal phase-detect, then focus is consistently poor. If used in MF mode, the D90's green dot indicator also guides me to wrong focus. This is true at any zoom setting...

Sure, but the point is that 10 second limit for 640x480 @ 30fps makes the Olympuses worse than average in this respect, compared to other current compact digital cameras. Panasonic DMC TS1 has comparable ruggedness, and is able to record 30fps 720p video, seems like limited to 2GB or something...

The camera is now with Philip Tay (DE Camera Consultants). He checked it thoroughly and thinks that the problem is probably in the main cluster of electronics. It will be completely solved by replacing the entire cluster, which costs about $280. So... anyone interested?

When I met a forummer to deal today, we noticed that the shutter would always fire at fast speeds (about 1/60 from the sound of it) even if it is manually set to slow speeds, or on B. LCD does display the selected speed correctly though. Symptoms remained the same after putting in 2 new SR44...
