Currently, I'm also having the same configuration as yours. Was trying on Tamron 17-50 and Canon 17-55 this afternoon. Guess I should be heading towards Canon 17-55 soon, maybe next week.

Tried on the Tamron 17-50 VC and Canon 17-55 today. Canon 17-55 blew me off on the sharpness. Though the price is steep, I would reckon painstakingly go for Canon. Gotta to save up for few months for it. Cheers!

Got a battery grip yesterday. Finally able to fully grip the body (including my last finger). Amazed at e overall build & functionality with its xtra portrait's shutter button.

I got it at $1699. With free 8gb SDcard(class 6), battery, classic case, tripod & crumpler bag. For e lens, saw a usm lens but was told by colleagues not worth it. Guess i nd to pay Funan a visit soon.
