I am using a JVC GRD270 miniDV camcorder... connecting it via Firewire or USB cable with playback turned on. The PC just don't detect it. Even on WinMovMaker

Is it possible to transfer the miniDV footage to my DVD player's HDD > burn it on a DVD-R/RW then transfer to my PC to edit?
