Get one of those spyder2 pro thing from Cathay to calib your monitor. Then get PS your photo till the colour u like, get it print by a prof printer co, without they adjusting it further. Then compare with your laser print out. adjust adjust the the laser color ...till...like your test...

I have a 100mm macro lens 2.8f (canon) some times I use it for portrait at the distance of 10 feet. The details can be very clear.

Looks like a great project. Once complete shooting the photos do share with me! I suggest a combination of B&W and colours... and perhaps some model (your friends) in school uniform. Spend a few days... get shots of various time of the day... and the sun ray... plan and research before u do :)

Another thing is u need to calibrate so that camera=monitor=printer (colours)

Use AF to gauge the distant and set it to MF. Shoot away..

My favourite is the rainbow filter :D You can basically create rainbow anywhere....when there is light :p

Play around with "Image Size" and then "SAVE AS" quality.... from 10 drop till 5.
