    Which 1 comes first ?

After factoring in the FOV crop (1.6x) on the 40D/50D, the 10-22mm is equivalent to about 16mm on FF. So if you can accept the 10-20mm on 40D/50D, you should be able to accept the 17-40mm on the 5DmkII.

    Better Picture quality with CF?

Is the 'x' in both specifications the same? Should compare using the read/write MB/s.

    Recommend WA lens

One of DxO Optics Pro's functions is to correct such WA distortions. The Sigma EX 10-20mm is a supported lens, as is the Canon EF-S 10-22mm. :) There are probably others that can do so too, but I stopped looking after trying out DxO. :P I use the Sigma, btw, and it's an amazing Ultra-wide for...

    Photo software DxO

It's about as user-friendly as any pro photography application out there (Apple Aperture, Adobe Lightroom). In DxO Optics Pro, you work on projects. The basic work flow is: 1. Open a (new) project. 2. Select images to process. Originals are never modified, only references will be stored in...

    Canon EF 50mm f/1.8

It's a Depth-of-Field (DOF) problem. Wide aperture = shallow DOF. Close down your aperture to f4 and above and you'll see the difference.

What is the function of DOF button on the camera

In this digital age, its value has gone down since you can just shoot over a range and pick the one you want later.

What is the function of DOF button on the camera

It will close down the aperture blades in the lens so you can see the actual Depth-of-Field for the selected aperture. It will not make any difference to you if your aperture is set at the maximum.

how do i change aperture manually?

Since the aperture value is a ratio of the opening size to the focal length, for the same 'hole' size, a longer focal length will yield a smaller aperture value (higher f-stop number). Of course, without the electronics, you wouldn't know what it is. :dunno:

microwaving silica gel for use in dry box

Include a piece of kitchen tissue into the container to absorb the released moisture. When it's done, use a baking tray to cool it sufficiently before returning it to storage. Should be much faster than 10 minutes. ;)
