Nikon V3 coming... with a 70-300mm native lens

There are quite a few things that a DSLR cannot do while the V1 can 1. total silent shutter (electronic shutter mode) 2. extreme high fps (up to 20 fps for V3) 3. This is VERY important for me - simultaneous movie and photo. For example, cutting birthday cake. You can take movie and at the...

Nikon 10-30mm works only at 13-30mm

I have mine have problem as well. It started at the wide-end having problem. Later, the range that has problem get bigger and bigger. Now, the lens is not usable at all. I check that I have the latest firmware already. So, it is not related to firmware.

    D600 User Thread

Actaully, if you want more detail of the craters on the moon, you should mount it with a V1 (through the use of FT-1). The 2.7x crop factor will ACTUALLY give you more detail than a D800. It is all about pixel density.

Will you buy the New V1 & J1???

Got a V1 with dual zoom kit. Nice to use. Photo quality is good, about equivalent or better than a D200. ISO 800 is no issue at all. ISO 3200 is usable though not preferred. Can't compare it with top notch DSLR. The lens cap is so small that often feel like I am dropping it. Still...

Portable Storage ? anyone still using them ?

A "dumb" basic portable storage drive does not read your memory card. Your camera cannot act as USB host to control the drive. Therefore, without a computer in between, you cannot backup your photo from camera/memory card into a basic portable drive. You need an intelligent portable drive with...

Pls suggest? Nikon DX format WA zoom w/aperture ring

It may be cheaper for you to buy separate WA lens for your DX body & Olympus than finding expensive lens that has aperture ring.

    D7000 Discussion Thread II

Of course, you can mount. I think the D7000's mount should be strong enough for it. But you always tripod it on the lens, right? From the balance point of view, the D7000 is heavier than D90 but lighter than D300s. I think it should be alright. If you put the vertical grip on, should not be...

    Nikon D5000 - 16MP DX, Movies, Tilt LCD, Wi-Fi

Looking forward to this camera as a D60 replacement. Was thinking about buying a D60 for my daughter (14 years old) since my D200 is too complex and heavy for her. A smaller size D60 replacement with movie feature will be good. I think it would be better to be 12MP than 16MP.

    DX lenses on D700

Yes, the 55-200 DX will work with D700. You can use the DX crop mode which will be limited to 5 Megapixels only. But you can actaully use it in FX mode in D700. There will be some small vignetting in the corner but it is acceptable. Just need some crop in computer...

    New Batch of DCs Announced

I think the commonality are 12MP and 24x. But the detail spec are all different. Kodak is from 26mm while Nikon is from 28mm. Kodak use lens-based IS, Nikon use CCD-shift. Kodak has hotshoe, Nikon don't... etc.

Just run pass by it during the Singapore Marathon. Indeed lots of car including old Ferrari Daytona, F40 etc. Good show. Too bad need to rush by in the run.
