Very Angry: Wow your camera is so good

I thought the last one is reasonable if the picture is to be printed.

What aspect ratio do you shoot in?

All cameras from compact PnS to prosumer compacts and DSLRs/mirrorless have options to change the aspect ratio of images captured. What do you usually use? I typically select 16:9 even though it has a lower resolution. Reason being all computer and phone displays nowadays are 16:9 or 16:10, and...

when is HS30 coming to town?

That is actually a step backwards. The HS10 and HS20 were great cameras (to me) precisely because of their use of AA batteries, which can be bought from any tom, dick or harry shop if your current set runs dry while shooting. And costs are not an issue if you in 2 set of 4 rechargeable AA...

New semi-pro SL series shows up on Fujifilm Global

Remember how Fujifilm's semi-pro superzooms previously consisted of only the HS series with full manual controls, manual zoom and manual focus, and the S series with PASM, a mechanical zoom, fixed 2-step aperture and no hot shoe? That changes now that the SL series has officially shown up on...

when is HS30 coming to town?

and what can the HS30 do that the HS20 can't?

Cosfest X.2 images (Day 1 only)

Not sure where this was supposed to go, but meh. - Indoor pictures - Stage event - Outdoor pictures Got to apologize for the shoddy quality on some of the indoor and stage events; gotten very rusty from not shooting any pictures for months. And pinhead 1/2.33" sensor + ISO800 = grainy pics.

Fujifilm releases X-S1 premium EXR 26X superzoom

That is some crazy good quality for a small sensor at such a long zoom range. :o:o Even with the addition 2x digital zoom at the telephoto range the images are still as sharp and clear as though it was done via optical zoom. 1248mm is really no joke. I think Fuji has got a winner here.

Native Resolution of your computer/notebook display

Basically, i have a more liberal view, which states that any resolution is fine as long as it is optimized for a display that has an aspect ratio of 16:9. The reason is simple: just about any single notebook display, standalone monitor and tablet out in the market today makes use of a screen...

First impressions of the Fujifilm X-S1

Assume that it will be US$800. Take that x1.3 to approximate current exchange rates between S$ and US$ and we get...S$1,040. Then add a markup of about approx 15% (since we all know cameras here are always more expensive) and we should be looking at a retail price tag of approximately...

Fujifilm releases X-S1 premium EXR 26X superzoom

I don't think it is going to be a problem at all. As far as I'm aware, people who go for such superzoom cameras with full manual controls typically know that their cameras are going to be almost as big and just as heavy as a DSLR (look at the Canon SX40HS, Fujifilm HS10/HS20EXR, Panasonic...

Fujifilm releases X-S1 premium EXR 26X superzoom

for a freaking large (relatively) 2/3" sensor, 26x optical zoom is unmatched. All other superzooms use pinhead-sized 1/2.33" sensors.

Any Compact system camera peeps faced this problem before?

Very true. Still can remember how some of my 'buddies' always like to say that my prosumer superzoom bridge camera 'is a big as a DSLR but cannot change lenses, how EVF is lousier than OVF, ahd have a puny 1/2.33" sensor and cannot have bokeh, and pictures will be noisy because sensor is...

    Using Mac for photo editing

If you want an operating system with a sold Unix backing, FreeBSD trashes OS X upside down in every manner such as data management, built-in filesystem security and memory access control. Heck, even most Linux distros with a kernel of 2.6.26 and later all outperform OS X where it matters most...

    Using Mac for photo editing

I call complete and utter BS on that, with my own DIY PC running off a Wolfdale-based Celeron processor clocked at 1.6GHz and 1GHz of DDR2 memory (667MHz frequency) running both Photoshop x64 AND Premiere Pro concurrently as proof.
