Will you sell any your lenses to get AFS 35mm f1.4G?

heh if only I could chase after gear like some people. I'd make do with what I have now, but of course when the lens name hints at wonderful low light capabilities, it does leave me with a strong desire to get it... larger aperture / low light requirements for me usually means better usage...

Is one considered a photographer if he relies alot on photo-enhancing software?

I respectfully disagree, Kenny888... while there are some individuals who have no shame in pumping in whatever effects possible in photoshop, most of us truly believe in the ideal that less is more :) just sharing from ONE designers' point of view. Any other designers share the same sentiment?

How often do you clean your lens/lens filter?

I use a zeiss optical lens cleaner (available at many spectacle stores) + microfibre cloth. It's a great way to get marks off the lens elements/filters, but as mentioned above, blowing off of any particles prior to application of lens cleaning fluid is the way to go. I personally clean BEFORE...

    Cpl / nd / uv

If you're not too keen on playing around too much with fill flash, try the alternative of a reflector, which I imagine would yield a more natural result?

Is one considered a photographer if he relies alot on photo-enhancing software?

as already mentioned above by some CS-ers there is a line that divides those who utilise photoshop to subtly enhance their image (WB, contrast, colour balance, burn/dodge, etc). and those who abuse it to make their work more than what it should be. Personally, I only apply PP to images which...

    Intellectual Property with Film Cameras

From an "artistic" point of view, technically speaking your friend has the so-called copyright because he was the person who squeezed the shutter button. Your camera and film are just a medium of his expression, in a manner of speaking. While I am sure this whole scenario is rather debatable...

Hi, newbie here, need some advice on purchasing of lenses...

Having read your posts it seems like you're pretty set on the 35mm 1.8G. I personally was quite tempted by it.. until I inherited my dad's old Nikon SLR and started buying and using the old-school AI/AI-S manual focus primes on my D40 which are essentially compatible with FF cameras. Having a...

    Prime Len for Travel Photography

I've travelled places using only my kit lens (18-55) and I rarely missed a shot, but had plenty of lost opportunities at night. Which goes to show how important a fast (and inexpensive) prime lens can be of help. I currently utilise 50mm, 35mm and 28mm prime lenses for both digital and film...

    long exposure layer blending

I've tried doing a city shot before with moving traffic and I found the part of matching/masking the light streams to be the most tedious. But that was before I had my 4-stop ND filter... planning to give it a try sometime soon with human traffic perhaps...
