Hi all, just to update and for those who are interested. I tried with a Pentax M50mm f1.7 last night without changing any settings and it worked! Was able to use the catch-in-focus method..etc Conclusion: It could be as what some of you mentioned earlier, some of the lense will not work...

glad to know that i am not the only one with this problem... Yup, af confirmation works (ie: green dot appears at bottom corner of viewfinder) and I am using the original pentax M42 adaptor. AF/MF lever was set to AF and lense screwed in tightly against the adaptor. Guess I will just keep...
