Tokina 28-70 F2.6-2.8 AT-X Pro II User Report

Hi guys, Recently inherited this lens from my friend who pass me his Nikon FX90 together with this lens. Mine is not the SV version, it reads AT-X PRO 28-70mm 1:2.6-2.8 Ø77 JAPAN on the lens, so I dont know if it is the same as the PRO II ? He seldom use it, and for the last 10yrs was kept...

    Tokina AT-X PRO 28-70mm 1:2.6-2.8

This is the Tokina lens I talking about. Unlike some other zooms it does not change its physical length when zooming so it shorter than the Sony 18-200mm when zoom in and not to mention much faster at F2.6 http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=485475...

    Tokina AT-X PRO 28-70mm 1:2.6-2.8

Think is slightly bigger than the 18-200mm NEX e-mount. Tokina Diameter 77mm compare to Sony 67mm But dont forget Tokina is a fast 2.6-2.8 compare to Sony 3.5-6.3. Tokina is 760g VS Sony 524g. I want try it out as it has F2.6 to die for! :bsmilie: A portrait lens. no OSS nevermind.

Hi Guys, Found this ancient Tokina lens, over 10yrs old. Nikon Mount. Tokina AT-X PRO 28-70mm 1:2.6-2.8 Can I use this with my NEX5? It is one damn big (Dia 77) and heavy monster lens. With a fast lens F2.6-2.8, I dont think I will miss the OSS. Do you all think it is worth it to...

    Nex 5 images

You mean NEX5 exposure is accuarate? I find that -0.3EV is more accurate. NEX5 seems to over expose a lot

Recommend a dry box to fit Sony Nex5 with twin lens

I dont think i will leave my gears untouch for so long... I now keep it in a air tight box. U all sugguesting that dry box not needed? I feel dry cabinet is overkill. Dry box is good enough and can be used as a protective case while travelling overseas
