    Tripod bag or Sling

Well it really depends on how you shoot, and what you shoot. If you have in mind what to shoot, probably you will be walking to the spot and spend a little time to set up (given that you have the luxury of sufficient time), then a tripod bag will be good. If you are the sort who looks for the...

    A New Thing A Day

I was thinking this could be a very nice thread to share what newbies like us have learnt for the day which excite(s) us. Think experience-sharing. =) Let me start the ball rolling. I was out shooting leisurely today for a seminar in a hall where the white balance got really screwed because...

What lenses for my Canon 500D? Prime or wide lens 1st?

Deep pocket = Tokina 11-16mm. Good for landscape works, low-light indoors.

    Buildings & Scenes in Singapore

I love this picture! I was in Ubin last week and saw this unique, leafless standalone tree along the boardwalk as well. That tree adds a sense of forlorn to the overall composition.

Sigma APO 70-300mm F/4-5.6 DG MACRO USER

Well, I'm a user as well. =) I deem this lens as a 'daytime' lens. You will need ample lighting in the open and also, stop down to about F8 ~ 11. That is the sweet spot for me though. Pictures taken then should look crisp enough even at 300mm.

    bags.... need recommandations.

Kata 3IN1 22 will fit you nicely. I just got mine recently and put it to use during the NE show just now. Very comfortable. However, you need to purchase a separate tripod cup at about $20. Another thing is, if your tripod is about the size of a Manfrotto 190XB, it is going to 'pull' down your...

Guide me for my 1st DSLR

Lens filter (I assume 58mm for kit lens) for mainly protection. Lenspen for cleaning (only as and when required) To me, a dry cabinet is absolutely necessary. The dry box is a joke. Night shooting? Get a stable tripod and a remote shutter release. To learn more? Shoot and read up a lot. :)

    Fire Works Shooting

Probably places that are near but not near enough to capture the obnoxious smoke. Places like Tanjung Rhu perhaps? I don't know if it is right, but I think there are some of us who are curious about when to press the shutter on the remote and when to release. Correct me if I am wrong; we open...

    NDP Rehearsal Fireworks 170710

I was there! But as it was my first time doing firework shoots, the images didn't turn out nice. The useable shots literally went up in smoke. :(
