My personal take... The 5D... best, get 2nd hand from this forum and they are comparable in terms of picture quality with D700 *Comparable doesn't means better or equal*. Get a 2nd hand 24-105L....... swee swee.... I think entire package less than 3.5K there is quite a few offers in the forum liao

no need to compare lah.... each have their own strength & weakness.... just take the one you feel you like better... Its' like choosing a Lamborgini or Ferrari in Singapore, you go for the design you like best more than the performance of the car, it not like you are going to run 280 Kph on...

With a strong blow that can snap a plastic mount, probably the lenses might crack in that process...;p

From my personal experience, using a 30D, I find even with my 70-200 (112~320) is not exactly tele, it works great on potraits, If you are using it for modeling and potraits, I think it is fantastic... but if you are using it for animals and street candid, than I do find the range of anything...

I personally advise buying things that allows you for future upgrades or items that have a longer life span, for example, I will recommend things like lenses that allows you to use on your current crop sensor system and also in a full frame body or 35mm. But beware... L lenses are poisoning... I...

Personally Crumpler 7 million dollar home.... pretty fast access for me, as for the running... I cannot comment as I dun usually run with my gears... for walking fast, its pretty comfortable. Had it for a year and I still love it.

Do consider a 2nd hand 20/30D with 24-105L f/4 USM IS. And slowly start your L collections....hehehe

Actually, you can even think of a 2nd hand 5D and 24-105L f4 IS (Around $3500 - depending on conditions)??? With 5D MKII coming in such attractive price, getting a 2nd hand legendary 5D is definately an option you can look at. 70-200L f/2.8 IS or non-IS, its a very heavy lens to use for walk...
