I am a beginner and I bought d90 cuz I didnt want to upgrade later. My younger sis bought a d40 and I find it good enough too. Only complaint is the kit lens at 18-55 only.

I just bought the d90 and I have no issues with the weight when taking photos for long periods. The only time the weight starts to bother me is when I hang the camera around the neck......
