I had a 30D on Vista with the latest version of Canon s/w. It is working fine.

The programs are similar to erasing hard disk for security purpose. There is disk eraser programs from active eraser: http://www.ntfs.com/products.htm The demo version only writes zeros to the disk. The full version had DoD standard for erasing data from disk.

For me, it is 24-70mm.

I agree with the renting. It is more economical. If you only uses it once in a blue moon, don't spend the money on buying equipment.

In your experience with the slate, is it more convenient to use the pen instead of a mouse for PS?

Thank you for all your replies. I am considering getting a Fujitsu tablet PC. But I have no experience in CS3 with a tablet- normally use mouse as input. With a pen-based input, I just want to be sure that I do not need to purchase other s/w.

Does the PS CS3 works with pen based tablet? Any special software needed?

Before cleaning using lenspen/microfiber cloth, use an air blower to blow off any particulars from the filter so that they will not scratch it.
