I've also had good experience at Canon Service Centre! My camera was out of warranty and they adjusted some small thing and gave it back to me, no charge :)

newkidontheblk: at least your dark edges look more balanced than mine! anyway, I have checked with Canon, and they give me the (lame) reason that the flash is too near, etc. Reasons I don't really accept since my previous Ixus did not give me such a problem. Now new Ixus, worse than the...

I just noticed that my Ixus 800IS produces this dark edge at the bottom-right corner. I took many different photos but it appears in all the photos. Is it a defect or something I have to live with? :dunno:

Canon Ixus 800 is the only one with IS at the moment. Ixus 60 doesn't have. Go for Canon :)

lionelow: I placed my camera on a ledge, so yeah, that should be equivalent to being on a tripod. ps: not everyone on this board's a guy...;)

Ricleo: I went to Dubai and came back already :) I can't remember what ISO...it was preset in the night scene mode
