Idaho man, not Iowa :) I'm well over 1,000 miles away. I'm only a few hours from the West coast.

    Wedding Photographer Needed in Idaho

Well, I was hoping I could find someone that was fairly local and actually save money compared to some of the shops around here... but I'm finding out that most of the people that post here are not from the US, let alone Idaho or Eastern Washington, hehe. So, yes to clarify... I'm looking for...

    Wedding Photographer Needed in Idaho

Hey thanks a lot man! Yeah, we'll see if I don't wanna smother her by next summer... We never knew it would be this much of a pain to book everything and keep everyone happy. She's pressuring me to book a photographer, so I thought I'd get it out of the way so she can relax! :P Thanks again...

    Wedding Photographer Needed in Idaho

Greetings, I'm having a wedding in June of 2005 and I'm about to start calling the local shops for rates. I figured I'd hit the forums up first to see if anyone is in the area and interested. I'm in Coeur d'Alene Idaho, near Spokane, Washington. Interested in hi res digital and I'd like to...

Macro shots splotchy with 6.3 Mpixel ??

Ah, ok. Yeah, my ISO was at 400... I'll put it back down to 100. Are the bulbs I'm using okay? Just incandescents, 40w and a 60w. The pics could be a bit brighter I suppose.... I hear that photofloods are only a few bucks each... maybe I should get two or three of those at around 75w or so?

need help with choosing a camera...

I went with a Fujifilm Finepix s7000, and love it. It has macro and super macro mode, so you can focus on objects that are practically touching the lens, if you want. It's a 6.3 megapixel camera, and has gotten great reviews. Here's the review at dpreview.com: Link There is a "Samples"...

Macro shots splotchy with 6.3 Mpixel ??

Greetings, I've been going through quite a learning experience trying to photograph some small italian charms. They are about 1" x 1/2", and polished stainless. I built a small soft box and that seems to have solved the glare problem, but now I'm noticing that the images are extremely...

    Wanting to sell photos online

I run a Web dev company, and I've set up lots of ecommerce systems. If you wanted to start your own up, you could use oscommerce. It will let you accept paypal payments as well as credit card or check/money order. The best part is, it'll do digital goods as well as real. When a user pays...

    Dock at Priest Lake, ID

Thanks for the input :) The 2nd day out I started taking each shot with normal, overexposure, and underexposure since I didn't have a way to look at them other than on the LCD screen. Those came out a bit better.

Need help with lighting for close-up jewelry

I found 2 good sites, one with instructions on how to light, the other on how to create a ghetto soft-box. I thought I'd post the links here. How to light Ghetto (but great) Soft Box

    Dock at Priest Lake, ID

Nothing better to do at 5:45am because a crying baby woke up the whole camp ground... so I thought I'd get a picture of the lake before anybody was on it. This is from the first set w/ my new FinePix S7000... and about the 10th picture I've ever taken in my life... be gentle! :embrass:

Need help with lighting for close-up jewelry

So, I'm new to photography as it is... and I'm sure that doesn't help :) I'm trying to take some pics of italian charms (about 1/2" by 1") and I'm having some issues with lighting. I'm trying to keep this as cheap as possible, yet still have it look good. I'm using a Fuji FinePix s7000...

using ps cs to do border

Rather than a thicker border, you may want to try putting them on a background image -- this will create the effect of "matting" rather than using a huge border. With the same border on all pics, they may look better. Just my $0.02 USD. /dak

Good choice for macro for ~$500?

WOW! Thanks for that link on shooting jewelry! I was definitely having some lighting issues... the flash was giving me way too much glare. Any idea how to get some good (ghetto?) lighting set up, dirt cheap? Thanks again! /dak
