From what I read, the only difference between sold-in-Japan-only Kiss Digital and sold-elsewhere 300D/Rebel is the lens. Kiss Digital use the USM lens and 300D/Rebel uses non-USM lens. The camera body is the same

It seems that the market price for this camera in reputable shops is around SGD1800-1850 or USD1000++. Anyone knows why it is more expensive here than in US? Is the 300D sold here the same as those sold in US?

SGD 1745 seems quite expensive. I noticed that shops along Orchard Road are willing to sell the 300D kit together with Sandisk Ultra II 512MB CF card for SGD1900. As the market price for this card alone is more than SGD200. The price for camera kit is less than SGD 1700.
