On our price guide, CP had it last year at $2850.00 it is no longer at that price as that was a promo. I rented the lens from a rental and they said it had come down to $2,500. But I don't think it has. Maybe, for corporate buyers. But thanks for your comments Rhino 123

May have heard wrongly, but I heard that the price of the Canon 70-200 IS USM F2.8L II has come down to about $2,500. The price guide on this board does not suggest it. Anyone knows it it has ever come to this and where? Much appreciated

Lens 6 has a shorter focal length, max 200mm but costs the most. Is it sufficient to capture a player's facial expressions halfway across the field. Thanks much. Perhaps I should rent one and try

Hi Rhino I checked the prices of the first two lens. They are really too rich. Maybe the third choice. But what about a f4 lens like the EF70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM. Will that work? I won't always be able to get onto the sidelines.

Am using a 650D. Thinking of buying a telephoto lens. Would appreciate your views about the best lens for taking pictures from the stands (Mostly) and from the sidelines of football or rugby games. Thank you in advance
