I actually prefer this lens to canon 50mm F1.2

Sharp like hell at the area that is focused. The problem was that it had focusing issue. Otherwise a really good lens. But eventually I exchanged for a good copy and it is smooth sailing. Really sharp at the focused area.

I got a new copy from Sigma service centre. I tried a few copy in the shop and I thought I had the sharpest copy there already. But when I went back I realised the focusing issue was not something I could live with so I went to Sigma to see what they could offer me. A few visits and the problem...

I went to their service centre 4 times just to know it's impossible to fix. Got a new copy instead. Wasted so much of my time.

Hmm. I am using both systems now. 5DMK3 and D700, both with their respective optics and normally my clients wouldn't complaint or tell which pictures are taken with which system so I assume both optics are equally good ? No war :)

Hi, i used both and I think everything you mentioned 5DMK3 would do fine maybe except product photography. D800 in a studio setting or controlled setting is really amazing. Of course that is only considering these two camera and not considering 1D series or DX series.
