Hi everyone,
I have an out-of-warranty R1 Speed Light + SU-800 (effectively a R1C1) for sale. It is a US set...
Hi there,
Can you please provide quote for the following (both pick-up and collect from shop):
Model: AP 68EX
Type: Digital Controller and Digital Display
Capacity: 68L
External Dimension: W380 X H499 X D390mm
I would prefer the metal tray version if it still available. Does all models now...
It's an egret. They made the Tengah Airbase people very frighten because they are worried these birds will fly into the multi-million dollars jets...
You can read more about them from here.

Hi everyone,
Just to provide closures to all the nice people here who helped made my life a lot easier, Dad has chosen and it is... the D300! Turns out that he liked the build so much that the additional weight isn't a factor at all. I showed him the comparison from NikonUSA between the D90...
Oh haha thanx! Should have figured this out on my own. Actually, oddly enough, even thougjh I the one who's posting here, Dad and Wifey are the avide photographers... I am kind of shoot only if it is auto and not very often too at that...
Thank you very much. I intend to do this. I am going showing him the brochures for both cameras, HIGHLIGHT the weight diff and the pros and cons and then take him to the shop. I am concerned about the cumulative weight as you suggested. He doesn't take nature photography but he does walk around...
err... that's a good point perhaps dad does come in here! But then again, most advise suggest that it is risky to buy without consult so there shouldn't be a problem....
Yes, I am starting to get the sense that is the most prudent way forward. Photography is such a personal thing since technically, anyone behind the camera is an artist and the camera is the artist's brush... can't force him or her to use something that they are not comfortable with!
Thank you...
I thought so too. I will try and persuade him... I suspect he might be swayed by the new gimmicky features.
Oh really? I guess it's got to do with the speed of the CF eh? But I think this is okay, the way he shoots, he will need more memory ;)
Thanx! Did a product comparison via Nikon Singapore site although not sure if I can makes sense of it! LOL. However, here are some of the things that stuck out:
Maximum Shutter D300 - 1/8000, D90 - 1/4000
Remote Control D300 - can't use the infra-red remote...
I am leaning towards the D300 as well in terms of build quality. Might be interesting to hear more about the photo quality comparisons. The popular Ken Rockwell site suggests that D300 performs poorer than the D90. Video is definitely not an issue since we have a old 3ccd Panasonic camcorder.
Actually, I had already gotten him a D70s about couple of years back and he has been hinting that he would appreciate a second camera body so that he can change lens less. That is his first DSLR and he really got butten by the digital bug! His shutter count for the D70s must be in the tens of...
