Born as the youngest son in a family of 5, it's natural i get alot of hand-me-downs through my life. Not that I'm complaining, as an old Canon SLR handed down from my dad had started my journey in photography. This was when SLRs was still made of metal and mine actually had bits of rust on the body. My dad was just flaunting his money and didn't know anything about photography, so I didn't have any other lenses to play with other than the kit lens it came with. But for a 9 year old, i guess it was sufficient.

I eventually wrecked the camera by the time I was 11. Without a drybox and proper knowledge, I'm surprised it lasted that long. I started using point-and-shoots as my family didn't buy anymore SLRs after that.

Once I started working a couple of years ago, I splurged my 1st year's bonus on a Canon 500D, but the kit lens sucked, so half of my salary into a Tamron 17-50 VC.

And so my journey continues....
