Downloaded the owner's manual... yes simply by depressing one button to disable the face detection function, this feature is not available in my canon 950is.. thks once again :)

Yup thks.... actually just wondering with the new face detection 2.0, its able to detect up to 10 faces, but is all 10 are at difference distance from the camera, how does the camera decide who should be in focused and who not, comparing to a DSLR, user can decide who shall be focused. thks

I decide which subject to focus instead of camera deciding....:)

Dropped my canon 950is, intend to get myself a F50, the 950is multiple faces detections system doesn't allow me to decide where i want to focus, cam does the decision..... which most pic turned out to be OOF, does f50 manual mode have feature that allow user to decide where to focus ???? Thks
