    you said that you have already tried and tested the 450D..go on and upgrade to the more rigid, faster camera, that is the 40D.

    I agree, its the same as taking an MRT or a BUS in a rainy weather, normally you will have condensation, it will not affect the functionalty of the camera, not unless you shoot under the rain, and let your camera be damped. On the mountains, just shoot, if the camera does not do what you want...

    Do you really need a flash?

    im guessing its because flash is over tilt, or bounce card is very big... and i think it depends on the potrait or landscape shooting, i notice if i shoot portrait, there is harsh shadows...my 2 cents photography is about light...flash is the one giving light...;)

    not so important for me, anyway if i really need to take video for travels, i will just bring my camcorder with me, nowadays they are making those camcorders as light and as small as possible...maybe can ask your gf/wife/kids to help you carry the camcorder to ease your burden on the loads..:D

    i thought its only because of the high ISO range, that is why those type of bodies have an advantage, other than that, the combination of 450D and 50mm should suffice for portraits.
