The warranty is limited to USA only. It is not an international one, meaning you will have to ship it to the dealer you purchased from or to Tamron USA. Convenient for USA customers, not for international customers who will have to bear the cost of shipping & insurance to the dealer...

Thanks for the explanation. But after the first year of international warranty, I suppose I will have to ship to & back (at my cost ) the lens to Tithes for any repair during the extended 2 years warranty. John

International warranty means buy in Singapore and get the lens repaired by a Tamron authorized dealer in any part of the world? How & where to register the lens within 7 days? John

I inquired about the warranty period of a Tamron 18-250 lens (Pentax mount) at 2 shops Cathay Photo says it is one year. MS Color Service says it 3 year. Why is this difference? Both are authorized dealers of Tamrom. John

I emailed Shiro about when will the Pentax 18-250 be available in SG, got no reply. Called them but the phone was always directing my call to the voice mail (I am from Mauritius & doubt they will call me back) Can anyone (not far from Shiro House) just drop there and ask for the information...

I would go for the Tamron or Pentax 18-250. Don't know if the Pentax is available in Singapore though. 55 to 70 is not a big upgrade, but I have the Sigma 17-70 and it is a good lens. Still thinking of getting a longer zoom. John
