Erm,I dunnoe if this helps but,but I use a sliver foamy looking sunshield thingy.Since its foamy so its foldable and its pretty big and flexible.It looks like those shield use in the kitchen to prevent oil from flying everywhere? You could prolly find this everywhere.

Hey, I use a X700 too,since I didnt encounter such problems I think it would be best if you sent it to camera hospital for a check.Its at Sunshine plaza.Near NAFA/LASALLE.
