hi i have the 50mm 1.4 AFD , its a lovely lens. Fast and sharp. I picked up on ebay for a good deal. I shoot with it every days shots.

Thank you all for your intresting feedback. I made the decision to stick with my 50mm 1.4d and wait till i get the 70-200 F2.8 Sigma HSM aPO like you all said. the 85mm is great for portrait and its a portrait lens. I intend to do more then that. Thanks again

no i dont want shoot portrait all my life in couple of month i want do start shooting weddings.

85 1.4d is too much $$$ i know the 85mm 1.8 have better boke then the 80-200 f2.8 but is it that considerable the difference?

Hi i posted couple of questions before on this forum and thanks to all of you who helped pick a lens. Well its 105mm macro what i want i was about to order the Sigma 105mm Ex DG F2.8 for 365$USD then i found a deal on a nikkor 105mm AF D F2.8 for 400$ mint used what s best. thanks

One last question maybe Whats the best lens to take portrait shots between these 3 macro lenses Sigma 105mm 2.8 Ex dG Tamron 90mm 2.8 DI Nikon 60mm 2.8 D i was really considering the sigma . is it too long for portrait ( 155mm ) on a nikon D70 ? thanks

the 50mm is for low light conditions and with 1.8 or 1.4 apreture i get better bokeh no ? ( compared to the lens kit

already got the sb-1800 and manfetto tripod. :) is the 5mm 1.4d too short for portrait. ot better off with the 1.8d

i am just checking reviews. in general people seems to like or rate the tamron as #1 then nikon then sigma. As color renderatin and image quality. It does have shorter working distance then the sigma but that also applies for insects and movign objects.

budget is around 1600$ USd i figured VR are excellent lenses. but way too much $$ even 85mm 1.4 is over 1k$ by it self thanks
