Information from my friends who are in the electrical hardware trade said that most of these items (digital SLRs, hifi sets, video cameras, phones etc.) that are being sold are 'recon' or 'refurbished' items from the direct manufacturer, after which the sellers packed it nicely & shrink wrapped...
