The 18-55 is an impressive kit lens judging from the photos I have seen online and I have been looking for a good copy since, but on the other hand the 16-55 is optically better if you can look past the weight, it's like having a group of primes in a package. That's what I like about Fuji lens...

There's no perfect choice but the best choice for your needs :) Most importantly is to enjoy yourself shoot more! I'm beginning to love the 35mm more than my 23mm these days! I'm sure it will serve u well for the trip, cheers. Since you don't mind the weight, have u considered the 16-55?

It depends on your needs for the trip, landscape? Street? I don't own both lens but I did try out the 16mm and it is a very bulit lens with good sharpness but personally I wouldn't bring it overseas because of its weight. As for the 90mm, i haven't got a chance to try and I don't usually shoot...

If I'm not mistaken, there isn't any silver kit or any kit for this model but there are silver XF lens u can buy, XF27mm and XF 14mm.
