50mm f1.8 will "NOT" auto focus on D3100 .. cos D3100 has no build in monitor ... i have tried but manual focus is a bit difficult ...may be it's just me:cool: if u want , there is 50mm AF-S F1.4 FX len , but it cost about 700 SGD ..:embrass:
