I have packed my Manfrotto 055CX inside my luggage and check it in separately using a padded Manfrotto tripod bag. I always ask the check in counter to put fragile on my tripod bag and request to check in the tripod bag last:)

catchlights' right:) my suggestion is to use a stable tripod for low light or night photography. also try to adjust your white balance (WB) settings aside from increasing your ISO. sometimes auto WB cannot compensate on night to low light situations. just remember higher ISO means more...

Galdor is right:) You can also shoot using Auto mode without changing anything on the settings. The D90 built in pop up flash will activate 99% of the time in Auto mode as well. Regards, Argyle

not sure how it's done on Canon but on my Nikon D90.... I use shutter priority mode. aperture varies between 5.6 to 8 exposure at 1/25 as a start for outdoor panning shots. I can go up to 1/50 depending on subject speed. regards, Argyle
