I don't have any experience with the M1, sorry. I got this with the EM-5II body, partly as replacement for the EM-5 kit (which was my go-to "the weather is bad/foggy/misty, better use a weather-sealed lens" lens), although to be honest I'm not too impressed; HOWEVER I'm more of a prime shooter...

I'm not sure about if you buy the lens on its own, but the hood is included with the EM5II body + lens package. No lens bag included. (I'm not too pleased with the hood though, it feels a bit too fiddly to me putting on and taking off.)
