Michael has been interested in photography since young, the joy of taking photos stuck with him ever since he bought his first SLR in 2002. It was a Sigma SLR, nothing fanciful technically but it was enough to bring him hours and hours of joy.
In 2006, he bought his first Nikon DSLR for his 30th birthday. Michael quickly learn to capture everything with his camera, from portraits to close-ups to landscapes and even travel photography.
He further honed his photography skills with intense reading on photography, photo shooting, attending photography workshops and interacting with fellow photographers.
In the same year, Michael co-founded a local photography hobbyist club called The Tangshooters with a few of his good friends and this single event marked the beginning of his professional photography journey.
His main career in music teaching, composition and arrangement in a local music production company has given him plenty of experience and exposure to shooting live events and real time functions. Coupled with his previous stage management, events/concert planning and artist liaison experience while working in Esplanade, he knew what to look out for, the flow of the event and who to speak to to get the best shot the clients wants.
Since then, Michael has shot various live events such as J-team 2007′s Graduation, Rynn 林宇中 concert in Kuala Lumpur, Photo Sessions with JJ Lin, BY2 Autography sessions and many more. His experience in capturing candid real-time events also shows in the wedding photographs he took, clients are mostly impressed with his ability to capture the right moment, given the short window of time available to get a good shot.
