Buy both... monopod can do 1 seconds exposure if have something to lean on. Darn, you are plain rude! We are all here to share & learn, no need for suggest others high on something, right?

only carry 2 filters back then... Nikon soft filter for portrait and polarize filter for landscape/sea/building.

Even for sunrise or sunset shooting, the grid of viewfinder is good enough for leveling, why need a leveler? What lens you use for sunset photography? Have you seen people use longest mirror lens (600mm) to magnify the sun effect with all foreground throw off focus?

yes i agree the bubbles tell no lies... but is waste time lor... not every scene can be repeated, i rather waste time shooting than waste time leveling the bubbles... :bsmilie:

Manfrotto is very heavy... very sturdy to uses with 300mm F2.8 for swim suit photography at changi beach. Dont think a 550D kit can heavier than a 300mm F2.8 lens. Unless doing night/sunrise/sunset photography, a monopod is better and lighter, can use it to whack wild dog if encounter 1.

spirit leveller? u mean D90 no more viewfinder? all must relies on the LCD on back & a spirit leveller to stay on horizon?

35mm uses for indoor portrait still ok but not studio portrait... the background so sharp and clear until a shoe print can be spotted is zzZZz.

the 85mm F1.4 is a killer lens for studio portrait. also great for outdoor portrait with space constrain.:lovegrin:

paiseh... uncle old liao, eyes no good... the right side of model's head, the hair merge with the black background? or no hair on right side of model's head? likely a 135mm f2 can produce better result than your 200mm F2.8, subject too near a building to really throw the background out of...

uncle here can only afford PnS HX5V... really envy those youngsters that sling a 70-200/2.8 with their D90, must shoot many exposures just to pick a decent photo with very thin DOF so model can stand out... but forgot to look out that skinny lamp post protuding behind the model's head. :sweat...
