I also sent my Nikon D60 to NSC for the same error message that you've encountered last friday.However i have yet to receive a call from them on the cause of my camera.. this set is less than half a year...hopefully nothing is serious..!!:)

Hi all, I bought nikon D60 two months ago...having been reading/shooting...came around a phrase "Focus Infinity" & "Mirror lock up" to prevent camera shake.. can anyone explain how to focus infinity? can D60 have this kind of functions? thank you!!

I also have a similar problem with my new D60..I called up Nikon Svc Ctr and they adviced to send my body + one lense for servicing..and it takes at least 7-10 working days... btw,do all Nikon DSLR camera have this kind of issue? Will canon has this kind of issue as well?
