    Phuket - brief picture log

Made the quick and short trip back in September, posted some sunset pictures here previously and now posting the collection I made up here at http://203.81.39.55/phuket/travelogue.html. First time doing something like this since I got interested in photography and have really enjoyed the...

I absolutely second that! Was faced with the standard budget dslr decision of whether to go for 350D, D50 or D70s. I don't have huge hands but the D50/D70s' handle feels so much better that I just had to go this way. Had also fiddled with my friend's D70s, found that it felt slightly more solid...

i decided to get the bag first else i can't get out ;p just got a crumpler 5 million this evening, looks like only enough for the cam + another set of lens. now i am wondering whether if i should go back and change to the 6 million bag instead or not. seems that no mo for da protector lately...

    Another happy new d50 owner

thanks for all the very helpful replies :) i think i'll be getting the 55-200 very soon, it'll be useful for shooting people from far and for simple events i guess? will need to get protection for the cam's lcd screen and a bag as well. the free nikon bag is too big :bsmilie: finally a dry...

thanks for the advice! i'm also getting paranoid about dust getting into the body during lens switching...now i gotta carefully see what i can get with what i have. can't wait for the weekends to get out and about with the cam!

thanks for all the replies! nikon 18-200 is way out of my budget..:( ....am i right to say that the kit 18-55 and 55-200 together is going to give better images than a single sigma/tamron 18-200, so it's a question of whether the quality tradeoff for convenience of having a single lens is worth it?

    Another happy new d50 owner

you wouldn't advise getting the 18-200 immediately? for now and the near future i'll be doing mostly walk about shooting, travel photography is eventually what i hope to become good in. can i ask also how much is the 18-55/f3.5-5.6g de kit lens roughly worth in resale value?

hi all, finally gotten my maiden dslr this evening as after months of thinking. had fiddled with my friend d70s and was almost tempted into getting it but pulled back to the d50 due to budget constraints. now my next consideration as with others is whether to get the 55-200 or try to sell the...

    lensflare or problematic lens?

thanks for your opinion, think i shall just send it for checkup soon just to be doubly sure!

    lensflare or problematic lens?

thought it was moisture at first too but shorter exposures came out fine. and the hexagonal shaped lights should be a good indication that it's unwanted lens flare effects i guess. to quote from the link sammy gave:

    lensflare or problematic lens?

thank you for the explanation and link, have a better idea now and will experiment again to get that bright light source in without flaring out my pics :)
