Just did it and tried it out, seems good so far. Took a 100 shots as a test doesnt seem to be a problem. Will keep trying it out. Thank you sir for the advice!

OK lah my warranty long gone leow, my cam is like Nov 2002 one. :-) $250 I guess is relatively reasonable, since they charge $170 to do servicing which I did like a few weeks back. Anyway, thanks for the input - at least got some peace of mind now.
